I have a mini dictionary that I just bought is it going to help my horrible spelling if I look up words in it?Is this going to help my spelling?
Yes it will. It's a good start.
The best way to improve your spelling (vocabulary, too) and overall language skills is to READ. Read, read, read. The more words you expose yourself to, the more familiar you'll become with them.Is this going to help my spelling?
My seventh grade teacher helped my spelling of difficult similar words by making up clues for their spelling--eg
Principal and principle--the principal of a school should be your PAL
Dessert and desert--I'd like 2 helpings--now no one would like 2 helpings of desert
Stationary and stationery--one has an a like in stay and the other has an e like in write
This will help but the best spelling teacher is to read. If you see a word written many times it's spelling will stick in your brain.
Many times if the correct spelling eludes me writing the word down will often jog my memory.
Yes looking up words will help your spelling. There is nothing like doing things the hard way to keep it in your memory. Is this going to help my spelling?
it depends because every time you cant spell a word your gonna have to keep lookin it up in the dictionary but i would probably use it but if your at the computer go on the online dictionary there alot quicker than dictionary.
