What is the correct way of spelling "hontou" in Japanese?

I see so many websites with "hontou" (本当) and "honto" (ホント) including wikipedia.

I've looked up the online dictionary and it only gives a definition for hontou.

What I want to know is what is the difference between the two (if there is one) and if there is no difference I want to know why.

ThanksWhat is the correct way of spelling "hontou" in Japanese?
the difference for their meaning between them is nothing.

they are perfectly same word.

Hontou is correct Japanese ,but we sometime say honto

honto is just spoken language

your question is same as what is the difference between

"What is" and "What's" or "want to" and "wanna"What is the correct way of spelling "hontou" in Japanese?
well i think it really depend on yourself..

because some people spell the romaji (is it romaji?..) according to their pronunciation.

but basically both meant the same thing.

usually i use hontou though..

because i feel it is more accurate.

not sure if this is a good example but.

kiyoka %26amp; kyoka. (name)

both are actually the same name.

but maybe when saying the words, most people prefer ki-yo-ka.
