Why can't I add a word to my Microsoft Office 2008 Mac Dictionary?

When I go to the spelling and grammar, or if I right click the word the "add" button is there but it is grey or discolored and it will not let me click it. This is Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac if that makes a difference.Why can't I add a word to my Microsoft Office 2008 Mac Dictionary?
You probably did a customized installation when you installed Office. You probably left that feature unchecked by mistake. You need to modify or reinstall the entire thing.Why can't I add a word to my Microsoft Office 2008 Mac Dictionary?
