What is the best way to improve spelling very soon?

I am so bad at spelling, I have to check out with a dictionary all the time, when I finish a posting or writing, but not every single word, anyway I hate spellingWhat is the best way to improve spelling very soon?
Keep using the dictionary. Your spelling will improve. And read, read, and read some more. Books, magazines, catalogs, comics, anything with words in it.
Reading lots and lots will improve your vocabulary knowledge and range but not your spelling. Reading helps with word recognition and familiarity not writing, the principle activity involved in spelling.

The only effective way to improve spelling is to first identify spelling areas you have particular difficulties with - this could be homophonic words such as there / their, where / wear, patience / patiance. Or it could be letter / sound groups such as tion / sion / cian, or ought / ough / eigh. You then need to go about rote learning the spellings that cause you problems, write them down, get someone to test you, revise and review them frequently until you have moved the knowledge of how to spell those words into your long-term memory.

Easy!!What is the best way to improve spelling very soon?
Make a list of words that you use in your normal everyday writing and frequently get wrong. Keep adding to this list words that are often used in correspondence and other words as you come across them.

Buy yourself a pack of blank calling cards (available from stationers), select two to three words out of this list and write them on the card and keep this in your pocket. Now every time you get a few minutes, while waiting for the Bus or travelling etc, use this card and learn the spellings rote style.

I know it sounds tedious but keep at it and you will be surprised how quickly you can get in to the routine and this way you will have mastered 800 to 1200 words in a year. This is sufficient for you to deal with day to day correspondence and work related words.

Good luck.

It is interesting to see that the Education head in Britain can not spell correctly. That simply mean that, spelling is serious and very crucial thing in any language. The sense in your sentence, many a times gets distorted by poor spellings. It also requires much effort from the readers. The simple way I deal with my spellings is by pronouncing the difficult word by using the syllabic demarcation. Of course, this is even difficult when can not pronounce properly that specific word. What do I mean by this eg Difficult becomes Diffi cult. I hope this helps you. What is the best way to improve spelling very soon?
Wanting to improve for the sake of improving will help. Don't hate spelling try to enjoy outsmarting yourself by getting it right. i was advised when i had problems to carry around a little book and put the spellings i got wrong into it but i just say if you learn to spell the word right from the dictionary just go ahh so thats how you spell it and try use it correctly a few more times in the same assignment if you can
LOOK at the word.

SAY the word.

COVER the word,

WRITE the word.

CHECK the word is spelled correctly. if its not, repeat until it is. unfortunately some people, especially those with dyslexia, are just poor spellers.

good luck!
I have the same problem. I have been reading novels and magazines since i left school with 5 GCSE's and 2 A-levels, but still my spelling is appalling. I was even thinking of doing one of the improve your skills courses, but i already have a GCSE in English! No where to turn to for help. I think some brains just don't have a spell checker built in.
I have the same problem and the if it looks wrong it probably is wrong can be of very little help because the right spelling can look wrong. I've given up and use a dictionary if i have one and spell-check on here if i don't. Spell-check is not always very helpful, but it can be

Read lots of books, magazines and newspapers and it will just stick in your mind.
